Setting up an appointment
When calling for an appointment, please have your insurance card ready in front of you. Our staff will be happy to find out your insurance coverage on chiropractic treatment for you, before your appointment.
After setting up the preferred date and time, please print out an online patient form and fill out the information before arriving to your appointment. This form asks about your medical, social, and family health history, as well as your current symptoms.
The Day of your Appointment
After being greeted by the receptionist, please sign in and our staff will collect the patient intake form from you and will notify the doctor that you have arrived.
You will be shown into the treatment room where the doctor will conduct a thorough consultation and examination.
Consultation
Dr. Nakano will review all the information that was placed in the patient intake form, and discuss your health-related concerns, and problems. Dr. Nakano is gathering information to learn more about you, your lifestyle, your needs, your conditions and your expectations during this time. All this information will be later factored in when producing a treatment plan customized just for you.
Examination
Next, Dr. Nakano will conduct a thorough examination to test standard postural, orthopedic, neurological, and physical examinations as well as your reflexes and range of motion. Extra tests may be required depending on the chief complaint and findings. This concludes the end of the first appointment. Due to the fact that multiple tests are taken during this time, Dr. Nakano takes a day or so to review all the material to assemble a unique treatment plan, to fit your unique lifestyle. We usually recommend patients to make an appointment for the next day. We do make exceptions however, for those that are in chronic pain, and provide temporary relief.
The 2nd Appointment- Review of Findings
After Dr. Nakano has assembled a treatment plan, he will discuss his findings. The goal of this step is to answer the most frequently asked questions from patients including,
What is the cause of the pain?
How can you help me?
How long is the recovery process?
What are my recovery goals?
How much will it cost?
Next, Dr. Nakano will discuss his recommendations, and treatment according to the presented treatment plan. There are 3 phases in treatment, relief care, corrective care, and wellness care. Relief care is the care to attend to the pain and symptoms. After the pain has minimized it is still important to receive corrective care. Many assume that no pain equals no problems. This is not true. Just because the pain disappears does not mean that the root problem does not exist. It is important during the corrective phase that treatment continues to attend to the root cause of your symptoms. The third phase is wellness care where patient education and lifestyle modifications are conducted at NAKANO CHIROPRACTIC.
The optimal goal for Dr. Nakano is to reach all patients to the wellness care phase and to be able to enjoy activities you love to its fullest potential.
Patient Education and Lifestyle Modification
Lifestyle choices are usually the contributing factor to a patient’s symptom and pain. Without education and lifestyle modification, these contributing factors may go un-noticed. Here, at NAKANO CHIROPRACTIC, we help find the leading cause, and help by providing simplified ways to modify your lifestyle in order to prevent from recurring pain.
Training and stretching the necessary muscles to help support any weak areas of the body, is also a vital part in the process of recovery. Training at the gym, and at our office are two completely different methods. The difference being that, in our office, we train those muscles to prevent from bad posture, and conduct neuromuscular re-education to develop the necessary muscles to prevent from any flare-ups.
We do not use heavy weights or machinery, but use a more holistic approach utilizing your own body weight. It has been surprising to NAKANO CHIROPRACTIC, that even an extremely toned individual, has experienced difficulty for some of these activities. Let us help, by assisting to discover whether the proper supporting muscles have been developed or not and get one step closer to obtaining a healthier, youthful lifestyle.
